“Success in life is becoming what you want to be.”
  • Wallace D. Wattle
It doesn’t matter the endeavour that you find yourself in, you could be more productive if you master the ability to do things more creatively. Simply put you need to become more creative or imaginative as well as being able to organise your thoughts to achieve the results that you desire. At the heart of it all you need to be making the right decisions, carry the right decision rightly, execute second to none and take a stance to evaluate your result for feedback.

Creativity + Organisation = Impact

Every successful endeavour has these three aspects to it. These are the desire to be, to do and to have. It is important to mention here that behind everything and every act there is and always will be thought … thought of sufficient intensity to shape and fashion the physical event. These thoughts can be of a creative or constructive nature.  In the words of Wallace D. Wattle, “by thought the things you want is brought to you; by action you receive them.”
There are two forms of imaginations that you need to master towards any creative process. You need to develop the ability of creative imagination as well as constructive imagination.

Creative and Constructive Imagination
Remember that it is faith and purpose in the use of the imagination, which makes the difference between the scientist and dreamer.”
  • Earl Prevette
In his book Power of Mental Imagery, Warren Hilton said that, creative imagination is more than memory. Creative imagination takes the elements of the past as reproduced by memory and rearranges them. It forms new combinations out of the material of the past. It forms new combinations of ideas, emotions and their accompanying impulses to muscular activity, the elements of mental “complexes”. It combines these elements into new and original mental pictures, the creations of inventive mind.
There is no particular profession or pursuit that has monopoly of creative imagination. Creative imagination is not in the particular remit of certain professional like the poet, the artist, the inventor and the philosopher. It is also possible to apply creative imagination in business. Creative imagination is the key requirement for progress and development in any pursuit. It is required to turn an old idea into new idea; fro without C.I. there would be no new ships, new engines, new automobiles, new corporation, new systems, new plans and new business.
In the book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, there was further elaboration on the subject of Creative Imagination.
“Through the faculty of the creative imagination, the finite mind of men has direct communication with the Infinite Intelligence. It is the faculty through which ‘hunches’ and inspirations are received. It is by this faculty that all basic and new ideas are handed over to men. It is through this faculty that thought vibrations from the minds of others are received. It is through this faculty that one can understand and ‘tune in’ or communicate with the subconscious minds of other men. “
It is important to centre your attention in developing your creative imagination and also constructive imagination in every area of your pursuit.  The synthetic imagination or constructive imagination is the one to pay very close attention to its development, because it is the faculty that you’ll need more in the conversion of desire to material results. For any transformation process of intangible impulse DESIRE into tangible reality physical result, there is the need for a plan, or plans. These plans must be formed with aid of imagination, and namely, with constructive or synthetic imagination.

“Imagination is the most valuable faculties – by all means develop it.”
  • Earl Prevette
In the realm of business or personal pursuits constructive imagination would mean to make it your business:  to know what is the best that might be - in your line of work, and stretch your mind to conceive it, and then desire some way to attain it.
In this article, I’ll be exploring the fourteen steps (14), describes by Walton Hilton from his book, Power of Mental Imagery, with some modifications on how to use creative imagination to radically transform your business or pursuits.
How to take radical steps in businessThe previous sections has given a preamble on possible prospects of imagination – creative and constructive, to develop your options into viable ones. It is clear from these introductions that the creative imagination must be called up in the solution to every practical question in every moment of your business day.
It can be applied in both your present business life for a radical change or when you are seeking to improve particular arm of your business.
There in the determination of how you can better yourself within your present filed of action or by selection of a new one you can adopt the following ideas.
1. Pay attention on your present situation
Pass in review before the mind’s eye your present situation.
2. Assess the situation
Look for possible ways of betterment.
3. Careful considerations of ways to move forward
Source various circumstances and individuals that will aid in this or line of self – advancement.
4. Count the cost
What are the difficulties that may confront you, having selected your field?
5. Seek out plans of action
Consider various possible plans of action.
6. Bring your imagination to work
Have previews of their working out
7. Evaluate possible outcomes
Compare the ultimate results as you foresee them.
8. Decision for future action plan
Decide upon the one most promising and with this plan as a foundation for further imaginings.
9. Success frame for the work ahead
Once more call before you the elements that will contribute to success.
10. Elicit all the environmental impact
See all the possible locations of your new place of business and choose among them.
11. Review your business process and systems
Outline in detail the methods to be pursued in getting and handling business.
12. Assess your whole workforce – employees, strategic partners etc.
See the different kinds of employees and associates you will require, and certain classes as best suited to your needs.
13. Look for possible future challenges and find solutions
Foresee possible difficulties to be encountered and adjust your plans to meet this, and most important of all …
14. Have persistent focus on your ability to achieve
Have a clear and persistent vision of yourself as a man of action. Setting to work up your plan at a fixed hour and carrying it to a successful issue within a given time.
In conclusion, I’ll leave you with this quote from James Allen, “men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”
